Boisjolie Alice G daughter of Urgel O and Rosalie M LaRose LaFleur

CHICOPEE – Alice G. (Boisjolie) LaFleur, 103, of the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life at Willimansett East in Chicopee surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers.

She was born in Holyoke on September 13, 1910, a beloved daughter of the late Urgel O. and Rosalie M. (LaRose) LaFleur. She was raised in Holyoke and later lived for 35 years in Worthington, Massachusetts before moving to Ludger Avenue in the Aldenville section of Chicopee in 1984. She previously worked at the former McIntosh Cotton Mill in Holyoke. During her younger years, she enjoyed meeting her many friends at the Aldenville Senior Center. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward J. LaFleur who was Called Home on July 25, 1986. She leaves many cherished nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the LaFleur and Boisjolie families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her loving brother, Leo U. Boisjolie who was Called Home in October of 1999. Her funeral will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.

Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 12, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. For more details, please visit:

    • Never knew she had existed before Jason shared his old pictures.

      I wrote a condolence message to let people know I have pictures to share with them if interested.

      My condolescences to the Boisjolie family. I have pictures of the Boisjolie and the Larose families to share for free with whoever might be interested. This is an article I just posted on my blog Our Ancestors after Roland Boisjoli wrote me an e-mail telling me that Alice had just passed away this week. A family picture shows Alice as a little girl. I am not directy related to these two families but one of my readers is. He is the person who shared his old pictures with me. Pierre Lagacé
